Here I was back in the States, after having traveled all over the world, and became excited to meet this man who certainly is diverse: he is half Indian like me, with a mother who has roots in southern India, but who's family resides in South Africa, and a father with roots in Sri Lanka, but who now resides in Malaysia with extended relations, and then with immediate family ties in Australia. With my roots mainly in North America and India, between the two of us, we have the world just about covered! Talk about being clear in my original intentions!
And timing...theraydoctor was within months of moving to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, a country new to both of us, for a one-year fellowship. In the meantime, I had spent the entire summer in Ohio with my family finishing a manuscript regarding my travels abroad and had not yet claimed a new city as home.
